I am a self-taught artist who was brought up in the vibrant city of London and moved to the sunny shores of Florida in the early 90s. My journey into the world of art began at a young age, driven by a deep passion for creativity and storytelling. Over the years, this passion has evolved into a fulfilling career where I now invest my time in writing and illustrating children’s books. I also love to write poetry.
My love for all animals, great and small, is a constant source of inspiration in my work. I believe that every creature has a story to tell, and through my illustrations and stories, I bring these animals to life, teaching children about love, friendship, and the beauty of the natural world.
My artistic journey is one of exploration and learning, and I’m proud to have honed my skills through dedication and practice. Each piece I create is a reflection of my love for art and my desire to inspire young minds. Whether it’s a playful puppy, a wise old owl, or a curious kitten, my goal is to create characters that resonate with children and help them understand important life lessons in a fun and engaging way.
When I’m not in my studio, you can find me exploring the great outdoors, surrounded by the very animals that inspire my work, or spending quality time with my family. I’m always dreaming up new stories and illustrations, and I’m excited to share my latest creations with you.

My new book
The Mystery of the Ninth Bell
Young Milo is different from the other mice. While his friends chase moths and explore the rafters, Milo quietly observes the world around him, recording every detail in his tiny notebook. His grandmother always told him that ordinary things often become the most important clues—and Milo has learned to pay attention.
When the beloved Keeper of the Tower, Rowan, mysteriously disappears on the night of Story Night, Milo notices something everyone else overlooks: strange cart tracks, a hidden brass button engraved with a star, and the distant sound of a bell that should not exist.
Joined by his fearless squirrel friend Juniper, Milo follows the clues beneath the ancient clock tower, where forgotten tunnels, secret maps, mechanical wonders, and long-buried mysteries await. Along the way they meet unlikely allies, including the mysterious Cassian of the Star Society, the clever young scout Pip, and a Keeper believed lost for decades.
Deep beneath Bramble City lies the legendary Heart Bell, an ancient bell whose power has been hidden for centuries. As rival factions race to control its secrets, Milo discovers that the fate of the city depends not on strength or bravery alone, but on curiosity, kindness, and the courage to seek the truth.
As forgotten bells begin to ring once more and old enemies emerge from the shadows, Milo must decide whether the greatest secret in Bramble City's history should remain hidden—or whether the truth deserves to be heard at last.
Filled with memorable characters, mystery, humor, and breathtaking underground worlds, The Mystery of the Ninth Bellis an enchanting adventure about friendship, family, and the extraordinary discoveries that can be made by those who simply choose to notice.
Perfect for readers who love magical adventures, clever mysteries, talking animals, and timeless stories in the spirit of The Tale of Despereaux, The Wind in the Willows, and Redwall.
Sometimes the smallest clues unlock the greatest mysteries.
And sometimes... one forgotten bell can change everything.

“The Poetry of Trees”
Art and Poems by Michael Prosper
In The Poetry of Trees, Michael Prosper invites readers into a quiet, reflective world where trees become storytellers, guardians, and witnesses to the Ahuman experience. Blending evocative poetry with expressive digital paintings created on iPad, Prosper captures the emotional language of nature and transforms it into a deeply personal journey of love, memory, resilience, and hope.
Each page pairs striking tree imagery—sometimes silhouetted against glowing skies, sometimes standing solitary in vast landscapes—with heartfelt poems that explore themes of growth, endurance, loss, and renewal. The trees in this collection are more than subjects; they are metaphors for the human soul. They bend but do not break. They lose their leaves yet trust the coming spring. They stand rooted in storms, reminding us of our own quiet strength.
Drawing from his life experiences—crossing oceans, building a life, loving deeply, and rediscovering his creative passion—Prosper’s words and art reflect a longing to leave something meaningful behind. His work speaks to anyone who has ever searched for peace beneath wide skies or found comfort in the stillness of nature.
The Poetry of Trees is not just a collection of art and poems—it is a meditation on legacy, connection, and the beauty of standing tall through every season of life.

In the Studio
I am always the happiest when I'm at home in my studio, I have to keep an eye on the Rag doll Cat as he will have his paws in the paint in a blink of an eye, I love to listing to music when I'm painting so ill have Pandora radio playing, Danny Elfman music or Liquid mind, some days Pink Floyd.
I enjoy making the mini videos of how I created the painting.
Many of you have emailed me asking me to do a how to video so I have made a couple of those that you can see by clicking on the link above that says "In the Studio Videos"

This Was one of my first videos using my I phone camera, and with the aid of a stop animation app I was able to create this cool video.
Every Artist has to have his or her's, favorite shirt to paint in! guess which one is mine :)
I had a lot of fun with this painting, this one is currently hanging in our living room.
